CIT Program

We’re excited to bring back our Prime Time Counselor in Training (CIT) Program—a unique opportunity for campers aged 13 – 17 years old to transition into future leaders and counselors!

  • Boys and Girls Grades 8th-11th
  • Ages 13-17
  • Mandatory CIT Training: June 7
  • Returning or Sibling: $100 per week
  • New: $150 per week

This program helps bridge the gap between being a camper and taking on greater responsibility as a counselor. CITs will gain valuable leadership skills, earn community service hours for High School, and often, those who excel in this program become Prime Time’s best counselors.

Application Requirements

To apply for the CIT Program, candidates must submit a Prime Time CIT application with a one page essay expressing their interest in becoming a CIT OR a letter of recommendation from a teacher or coach highlighting their potential.

After we receive your submission, our Program Director, Kaelyn, will schedule an interview with all CIT applicants.

Please note that we have limited CIT positions available each week at each site location.
All selected CITs must attend a mandatory training session on June 7th.

Responsibilities

CITs have two primary responsibilities:

  1. support the counselor
  2. play with the campers

All CITs are assigned to a group. Assisting the counselors includes:

  • setting up games
  • getting equipment
  • counting to make sure they have all their campers
  • getting to know their campers
  • being involved in all activities throughout the day

The role of a CIT is that they are an extension of the counselors. They are NOT in charge of the group. CITs are at camp to support the counselor and ensure a successful day for the group. They are also there to play all the games that the counselor has planned.

In addition, CITs serve as role models for their campers. They must remember to continually set a good example for all campers at Prime Time.
